韓國中東呼吸症候群MERS-CoV疫情持續增溫，累計至昨（10）日共有108例確定病例，9例死亡，疾管署已將全韓國列為旅遊警示第二級，從韓國來台班機，所有旅客都必須行走專門通道，提高疫情防制強度；另外，民眾撥打防疫專線1922次數明顯增加，疫情爆發前後有明顯差異。
據疾管署統計，韓國MERS-CoV疫情爆發前三天，撥打1922防疫專線僅32人，但是5月31日至6月6日一周時間，撥入1922防疫專線次數大幅提高至778次，6月7日至9日，僅3天時間就有256次；能看出台灣民眾對於韓國MERS-CoV疫情相當關心，也提高警覺擔心疫情影響健康。
疾管署副署長周志浩表示，受到韓國MERS-CoV疫情影響，不太瞭解疫情狀或疾病特徵民眾，都會撥打1922防疫專線，近期每天都有100多通，也顯示民眾增加疫情關心程度，是非常良好發展，也很鼓勵民眾使用防疫專線，有任何疑問都可以詢問疾管署，但不需要太緊張，疾管署一定做好萬全準備。
病毒傳染途徑、韓國返台如何處理、就醫方式等，都是民眾詢問常見問題；周志浩補充，台灣已經提升韓國旅遊疫情建議，雖然不像香港、澳門、阿拉伯聯合大公國嚴格，但防疫規格已經高於美國、中國、新加坡、泰國、日本、英國等，對於MERS-CoV疫情一定會嚴密看待，將疫情風險降到最低。
